Lassen County searches for new administrative officer

Sept. 25, 2007 — Reluctant to spend more than $20,000 for an executive search to replace Lassen County Administrative Officer John Ketelsen, the Board of Supervisors asked its staff last week to start recruiting immediately for a new CAO.

Chapman cites work to increase safety on Uptown curve

Sept. 25, 2007 — Responding to the community discussion about two runaway trucks coming into Susanville on Tuesday, Sept. 11, last week District 2 Supervisor Jim Chapman challenged the perception that nothing has been done to increase safety at the western entrance to Susanville on Highway 36, or Main Street.

Jack PAC continues to provide safe after school activities for elementary age ch

Oct. 2, 2007 — Children attending Fletcher Walker Elementary have a safe place to go after school. Jack PAC, a program initiated by Proposition 49, has been in operation since the start of school Aug. 23. By the end of September, 85 students were participating, just a few short of the maximum capacity of 90.
