Five HDSP employees win Gold Star Medals

May 27, 2008 — Two correctional sergeants and three correctional officers from High Desert State Prison in Susanville were honored by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in a ceremony on the West Steps of the State Capitol on Friday, May 16. The five officers were among nearly 100 CDCR employees recognized at the ceremony by CDCR Secretary James Tilton.
 

City may raise water rates

May 21, 2008 — Residents using the city’s water supply may soon be paying a higher base rate for their water services after if a rate increase proposed at the Wednesday, May 21, Susanville City Council meeting wins final approval.
  

School district proposes vital bond issue

The Susanville School District Board of Trustees approved a first reading of a bond measure at its Wednesday, May 21 meeting in order to meet the requirements of putting the bond before the voters on the November ballot.
  

Eighth-grade graduation schedule

During the next two weeks, the Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees will be welcoming the high school graduating class of 2012 at local eighth-grade graduations.
Graduation ceremonies will be held at the following times.

  

Lassen High School plans multiyear reunion

Lassen Union High School alumni from the classes of 1957 through 1970 are invited to a multiyear class reunion held from 4 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
