July 1, 2008 — The Susanville Little League’s Major Division held its championship game on Saturday, June 14 at Pat Murphy Field and saw the Diamondbacks defeat the Angels 7-6.

July 1, 2008 — After hearing comments and concerns regarding the Lassen Union High School District pursuing the purchase of a new facility for Diamond Mountain Charter High School, Board President Ken Theobald formed a committee to ensure legal and proper steps are being taken to purchase a new building.

Local naturalist Jim Moor takes children on nature walk

July 1 — For a third year, Jim Moore, a local naturalist from Westwood, led children on a nature walk Wednesday, June 25, to help them see the details in God’s creation. A Christian, Moore calls his walk The Wonders of God’s Creation.
