Wednesday, July 22, 2015 — The Lassen County Fair’s grand marshal is a long-time community member who understands the value of giving back creates a better place to live.
Rick Stewart, who owns Susanville Supermarket IGA with his wife Anna, led the Lassen County Fair Parade down main Street, Saturday, July 18.
The grand marshal is bestowed upon an individual  who is typically a local hero, someone who contributes to the community and participates in charity, things that are important to Stewart.
“We really feel that we are part of the fabric here in Susanville. And we want this to be a vibrant, great place to live. There are just so many avenues to support that, whether it be the Boy Scouts, the explorer troops, the history days with Isaac Roop’s birthday, the fishing derby, all the things that make this a special place to live, I mean yeah, we want to be involved in all of that and we are.”
