Grant funds fire safe display
Monday, April 20, 2015 — The Lassen County Fire Safe Council will have a new tool for spreading information regarding fire safety.
Recently, the local council was awarded a $500 grant to participate in the Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on May 2. The National Fire Protections Association, in conjunction with State Farm, awarded 65 projects, according to a press release. There were more than 300 entries that spanned 37 states.
According to Education Director Dan Douglas, the education committee had been working on receiving the grant for an ember house, which is an interactive display.Add a comment
