Supes begin airfield property negotiations

Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 — Herlong Surplus Properties Resources is set to acquire more land in South County after being awarded a request for proposal for property surrounding Amedee Airfield.

The supervisors directed staff to start negotiations with HSP Resources, formed by Hal Hays, Mike Smith and Steve Pezzullo, for the transfer of the property.

The decision was made in a 3-to-2 vote during a Tuesday, Feb. 17 meeting of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors.

U.S. Mine Corporation placed the highest bid — $35,000 — for the entire acreage.
