Racing returns April 20
Now named "Lassen Speedway," racing is scheduled to return to the Lassen County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 20. New promoters Chuck MacKay and Bill Crum recently purchased equipment from former promoter Larry Jackson and have big plans for this year.
"Larry won't be back. We're going to make racing fun again in Lassen County," MacKay said. "We're asking the drivers to come back and give us a chance."
MacKay and Crum said they promise to make the races "more efficient" and eliminate delays throughout the course of the evenings.
"We need to make the events more friendly for the spectators. That's our No. 1 concern," MacKay said.
Four classes of races will be featured throughout the summer on Saturdays, including modifieds, stock cars, strictly stocks and mini-stocks.
Those drivers who wish to pre-register for races or have questions about the rules should call Sam Evans at 257-5151.
For more information about Lassen Speedway, call MacKay at 253-2560. The gates open at 5 p.m. April 20 and racing starts at 7 p.m.
