Lassen Aquatics swim team

The Lassen Aquatics swim team traveled to Reno Saturday-Sunday, March 10-11 to compete in the Spring Invitational Meet hosted by the Reno Aquatic Club. Held under USA/Pacific Sanction rules, 31 Seahawk swimmers competed in the two-day event. There were 379 swimmers from California and Nevada competing for individual times and points in the Zone 4 meet.
Lassen's Zara Jereda, Ashley Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Elin Kuzmack, Jolee Montgomery, Faith Neff, Katherine Starcevich and Darci Trask. Kuzmack had three new "AA" times and Montgomery posted a new "A" time.
Royce Brown placed first in the 50 freestyle, setting a new "AA" time.
Stephanie Davis set a new "A" time in the 50 freestyle with a time of 31.35, and Stephen O'Barr placed second in the 200 breaststroke at 2:55.72 .
Competing in the 11-year old girls' age group were Constance Diaz, Kayla Kokkonen, Charris Memory, Jenny Phinney and Rebekah Oliver who placed third in the 50 backstroke.
Nick Parque,11, placed fifth in the 200 freestyle with a new "B" time of 2:43.96.
Competing in the 13-year-old age group were Ashley Hall, Michael Salem, Juliana Starcevich and B.J. Terry, who placed sixth in the 200 breastroke. Salem posted two new "A" times.
Eight year old Michael Kuzmack placed seventh in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:28.25.
Kai Jonas,17, and Josh Phinney,16, won their respective 100 freestyle events.
Nine year olds Daniel Pudlicki, Riley Schofield, Kaeley Terras, Andrea Terry, Paige Torres, and Jessica Vicondoa also competed.
Ten year old Jordan Laskowski finished seventh in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:28.25
Kai Jonas,17, and Josh Phinney have qualified for the Far Western Championships. They will travel to Walnut Creek in April to compete in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley. Jonas and Phinney will compete for four days in the trials events, against the top 10 percent of age group swimmers in the nation.
