Lassen High School's Jeris Evans was named to the All-Northern Section third team last week by a panel of Northern California sportswriters. The senior averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals while shooting 48 percent from the field. "She was a clutch shooter and handled the ball well under pressure," Lassen head coach Dorinda Shaffer said of her All-Westside League point guard. "When she played well, we played well. Jeris was our most consistent player."

Lassen College women's basketball head coach Mark Nareau hopes Evans will join his program. "Jeris has got great potential, good court vision and feel for the game. She'd fit well into our style of play."

Evans was alos named the team's top offensive player.
