“My husband Rocky and I cherish the relationships and friendships we have developed over the years within the community and at Banner Lassen,” said Joy. “We will not really be saying goodbye since Rocky will commute from Sterling to continue as broker of Joy Realty in Susanville. We are looking forward to moving closer to family in the Midwest and building new relationships in Sterling. I leave Banner Lassen knowing that we have a strong management team that is committed to enhancing services for the community and ensuring that Banner Lassen continues to be the hospital and employer of choice for Northeastern, Calif.”
Michelle Joy has been CEO of BLMC for the last two years and a Banner employee for eight years. Before assuming her CEO role at BLMC she served as associate administrator and worked with former CEO Dave Anderson who died in July of 2005.
Rocky Joy is a lifetime resident of Lassen County and served the city of Susanville as Mayor Pro tem until his resignation earlier this year. Joy cited family and business obligations as his reason for stepping down.
The Joys will move to Colorado with their three-year-old twin sons and said they will be closer to her family in Wisconsin and their son Ryan and his wife Amanda and new grandson.
