Burglary subject nabbed
After the arrest for the parole violation, the Susanville Police Department sought an arrest warrant for Richards in connection with a residential burglary that occurred on Oct. 9 on the 1400 block of First Street in Susanville, where several firearms were stolen.
A warrant was issued out of Lassen County with bail of $250,000. Richards will be brought back to Lassen County for questioning and possible charges in connection with that burglary.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Leah Renee Sorenson, 22, of Bishop, Calif. Sorenson was arrested by the Bishop Police Department on a Lassen County warrant for vehicle embezzlement.
The vehicle Sorensen was driving was reported to the Susanville Police Department as embezzled on Oct. 22. It is alleged that Sorensen borrowed the vehicle from a Susanville resident and did not return it as promised. Sorenson is being held on $25,000 bail for her involvement.
Several guns remain missing from the residential burglary, and the case is still under investigation.
