Marion Latrelle Steward

Marion Latrelle Steward, born Aug. 31, 1946 to Murray and Amy Steward in Spokane, Wash., passed away Dec. 18, 2009 in Janesville, Calif.   

Marion, better known to friends and family as “Russ” or “Rusty,” grew up in a military family and moved around quite a bit as a child. After leaving Washington State, the family lived in Japan during a portion of Russ’s childhood. The family returned to the states and settled in Placerville, Calif., where Russ attended grade school and graduated high school.   

After high school, Russ enlisted in the US Army, and served in Vietnam for several years, where he earned numerous medals for his service. When his service to our country had ended, Russ settled in Sacramento, Calif., where he met his wife Fern, and where they started their family.   

Russ is survived by his wife Fern Steward, of Janesville, Calif., his son Jesse Steward (Stefanie), of Susanville, Calif., his son Sam Steward (Andrea), of Susanville, Calif., and granddaughter Grace Steward, of Susanville, Calif.

At Russ’ request no services will be held.

Noreen Rose Moore 

Noreen Rose Moore passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 in Reno, Nev. at the age of 93. She was the ninth child out of 10 born to John Lewis Rector and Ida Samantha Stanley, June 5, 1916, in Eufaula, Okla.   

Noreen married Delbert Calvin Moore on Sept. 12, 1935 in Lamar Mo. Over the course of several years, they moved from the Midwest to the West Coast when they settled in Johnstonville, Calif. and reared their nine children. Noreen was widowed in 1968 and continued to live in Johnstonville until her later years, moving to Reno in 2006.    

Noreen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert; daughter, Bonnie Borghi; daughter-in-law, Niecei Moore and all nine of her siblings.    

She is survived by eight children: Pat, Terry, Rick, Kelly, Dinty, Debbie, Mike and Lessie, 22 grandchildren, and numerous
great, and great-great-grandchildren who will all miss her unconditional love, vivacious laughter, awesome mashed potatoes, and boogie-woogie piano playing.     

Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Diamond Crest Cemetery located at 471-500 Diamond Crest Road in Susanville,    Calif.

Norma Lece McCormick

Norma Lece McCormick, 77, died on Dec. 18, 2009, at Mayer Memorial Hospital Burney Annex.   

She was born on March 25, 1932, in Hollis, Okla.   

She is survived by her husband Melvin McCormick, of Janesville, Calif.; son Alan McCormick, of Castlerock, Colo.; daughters Tamie Mowery, of Susanville, Calif., and Susan Skidmore, of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren.
