Jesse Leroy Jacobs
Jesse Leroy Jacobs, of Doyle, Calif., passed away on Dec. 24, 2009 at Renown Skill Nursing Home in Reno, Nev. He was born on Feb. 23, 1927 in Hartford, Ark.
He joined the Navy in 1944 at the young age of 16. He was stationed at NTS, San Diego, Calif., on the USS San Clemente during which time he was wounded twice by suicide bombers. He was Honorably Discharged in July of 1946 with a ranking of Seaman First Class. He often spoke about his time in the service and was very proud of what he had been part of.
Upon his returned from the service, Leroy married his high school sweetheart Reba. They moved to California soon after and settled in Susanville where Leroy started his own logging business unitl his retirement. Leroy and Reba later divorced but remaind good friends.
Leroy moved to Doyle, Calif., in 1980, living on the Vazquez Ranch. Leroy enjoyed raising goats, sheep and cattle. Leroy loved the time that he spent on the ranch and you could always find him out feeding the many baby goats and sheep.
Leroy leaves behind a son Jesse Jacobs Jr., wife Elaine, granddaughter Tina and a brother Ted Jacobs.
His brother Ed and sister Georgia Rea preceded him in death. He also leaves behind and adopted second family, Gerald and Lee Wells, Sean and Vanessa Vazquez; two grandsons Beau and Jesse; granddaughters Rose Matthews and a great-great-grandson Cael.
No services were requested.
Marjorie Gayle Nordberg
Marjorie Gayle Nordberg was born March 29, 1926 in Brawley, Calif., to Flora and Sanford Bowen.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years W.A. (Chick) Nordberg in 2000.
She is survived by her son Eric Nordberg (Melinda), of Texas, daughter Gayle McMoran (Jeff), of Brookings, Ore., sisters Joyce Jeffers (Glen), of Pomona, Calif., Nina O’Connell, of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and brother Gorden Bowen, of Southern, Calif. Four grandchildren, Dean Nordberg (Cindy), of Portland, Ore., Karen Nordberg, of Sacramento, Calif., Michelle Williams (Tom), of Janesville, Calif., Renai Pipkins-Smith, of Red Bluff, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren Jessie Smith (Summer), of Red Bluff, Calif., Danny Hansen (Kate), of Susanville, Calif., Aisa Cole, of Portland, Ore., Ashlie, Kelli, Colton Smith, of Red Bluff, Calif., Nicole Pipkins, of Susanville, Calif., Emily Nordberg, of Portland, Ore.; one great-great-grandchild Shayla Smith, of Red Bluff, Calif., and one great-grandchild on the way.
As per Marjorie’s request there will be no services.

Gary Carl Ferguson, 52, died on Jan. 18, 2010 at his residence. He was born on July 1, 1957 in Baltimore, Md.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, of Janesville, Calif.; son David and Nicole Ferguson, of Reno, Nev. and two grandchildren.
