Milt Cain is doing the public a service by blasting out the rocks in the road near the bridge over the Susan River.

The bottom is all quicksand and the stream rushes along like a millrace so that it is very hard for horses to keep their feet.

He said that to the best of his knowledge, none of the primary railroad users identified by Southern Pacific has formally opposed the abandonment.
If no protest is filed, the interstate Commerce Commission would issue a certificate permitting the abandonment to occur within 75 days after the date of the original application.

On Thursday, May 7, students and staff that are allegedly on a hit list generated by Christopher Henry Armetta, 18, were notified through an unsigned memo that Armetta made bail and was released from the Lassen County Jail.
The memo written on Lassen Community College District letterhead only informed those on Armetta’s alleged list and not the rest of the campus that he made the $10,000 bail and if he is spotted on campus to call 911.
The memo also states the college filed a restraining order on behalf of each person named and the suspended student is not supposed to be on campus.
Extra security patrolled the campus on Thursday evening and one teacher was given police escort to and from his car. The professor teaches night classes and asked for protection.
