Notice of Public Hearing
LASSEN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Lassen County Board of Supervisors solicits the aid of the general public in consideration of the following item:
Project: Public Hearing: Consider the extension of two uncodified urgency ordinances (Ord. 573 and Ord. 574) adopted by the Board of Supervisors on May 11, 2010, related to Medical Marijuana. Ordinance 573 imposes a temporary moratorium on the establishment of medical marijuana dispensaries in the unincorporated areas of the County of Lassen; Ordinance 574 imposes a temporary moratorium on the cultivation of medical marijuana in the unincorporated areas of the county of Lassen. The emergency ordinances adopted shall expire on June 25, 2010 (45 days from their adoption), unless the Board of Supervisors extends the ordinances for an additional period of time in accordance with Government Code Section 65858.
The proposed amendments would extend the expiration of the moratoria adopted by Ordinances 573 and 574 for an additional ten (10) months and fifteen (15) days. Thus, if approved, the new expiration date would be May 9, 2011.
If the proposed extension is approved, the Board could consider, through an additional future public hearing, as allowed by Government Code Section 65858, a final extension of no more than one year (for a total of no more than two years).
Additionally, Government Code Section 65858(d) requires that a written report be issued by the Board of Supervisors in regard to the urgency ordinances passed on May 11, 2010. Said report must describe the measures taken to alleviate the condition that led to the adoption of the ordinances. Staff will also, on June 15, 2010, present a draft of said report for consideration by the Board of Supervisors. Project File No. 318.01.36.

The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on this item at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, in the Board Chambers, 707 Nevada Street, Susanville, California. NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE
PLUMAS NATIONAL FOREST
The Freeman Stewardship Project is located on the Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest. The project area encompasses the West side of the Lake Davis Recreation Area, Threemile Valley, Grizzly Ridge, and Little Summit Lake. The project is located in all or portions of sections 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, 34, 35, 36, T.24N., R.12E, sections 30,31, 32, 33, 34, T.24N., R.13E, sections 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 14, 15, T.23N., R.13E., M.D.M. The Freeman Stewardship Project plans to treat 741 acres on National Forest System land. The project would involve a combination of understory thinning of commercial size conifers, biomass removal and grapple piling. The project area has an estimated 7,085 Tons (2,330 CCF) of sawtimber comprised of 115 Tons (38 CCF) of incense cedar sawtimber, 3,819 Tons (1,256 CCF) of lodgepole pine sawtimber, 977 Tons (321 CCF) of ponderosa pine/Jeffrey pine sawtimber and 2,174 Tons (715 CCF) of white fir/red fir sawtimber marked or otherwise designated for cutting. In addition, within the sale area there is an estimated 12,480 Tons (4,512 CCF) of combined softwood (non-sawtimber) that the bidder agrees to remove at a fixed rate. Interested parties may obtain information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale, stewardship contract, project maps, and instructions for submitting a bid online at www.fbo.gov, solicitation number AG-9A63-S-10-0046. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid/pre-proposal meeting scheduled for June 9th 2010 at 9:00am.
