THEY ARE HAVING A PARTY
Naomi Turner of Room by Room Interiors is co-hosting a bit of a party for the ladies, called "Ladies Let's Party". Naomi, along with Princess House, Sentsations and Silpata Jewelry, will be offering an afternoon of fun. Naomi informs us that if you bring in a photo of the room you want help with she will be offering free room evaluations, plus you will find lots of other goodies that day. The fun is from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Monticola Club House in Uptown Susanville.
AN AIR ODYSSEY TO SUSANVILLEThis Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Susanville Airport is the annual air show. The event this year is "An Air Odyssey to Susanville" which promises to be a great one. The pancake breakfast is from 7 to 10 a.m. and the air show and displays are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be aircraft rides, military fly-overs and much more. Don't miss this great family event.
6TH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Susanville Elks #1487 is hosting their 6th annual charity golf tournament beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 28. It's a four-man scramble format at Diamond Mountain Golf Club in Susanville. Dinner will be served after the tournament, so come out and enjoy a day of fun and good food.
ELKS LODGE TRAP SHOOT
The Susanville Elks Lodge is hosting, "The warm-up for Dove Season Trap Shoot" at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29. It's sure to be a day of fun. It will be held at Ketcherside Trucking in Standish. For more information, call Naomi Turner at 310-3496.
FLU SHOT CLINIC AT WALGREENS
With the flu season and winter just around the corner, now is the time to think about getting your flu shot. Walgreens Pharmacist BJ Goodridge, informs us they will be having a flu clinic beginning at noon on Sept. 8. They also offer gift cards available for the shot.
CHRISTMAS ALREADY
Believe it or not, it's just four months until Christmas. Kelly Smith, owner of Hodge Podge Lodge is already thinking about the holidays. She is off to Seattle to the Gift Mart to make her holiday purchases. Before long you will be seeing Christmas at the "Lodge."

A CEO of a major corporation closed a speech he delivered about providing quality service.
Businesswomen stopped by a coffee shop and ordered a cup of coffee. The waitress grudgingly delivered it and asked, “Anything else?”
“Yes,” said the businesswoman. “I’d like some sugar, cream, a spoon, a napkin and a saucer for the cup.”
“Well, aren’t you the demanding one,” snapped the waitress.
“Look at it from my point of view,” said the businesswoman. “You served a cup of coffee and made five mistakes.”
RECEIVES QUANTUM LEAP AWARD
