Andy Warren, local owner of the JCPenney catalog store, has some exciting news to share. So now you can shop in the comfort of your home and pay no shipping.
Local artist Norma DeBaker, tells us she is getting ready for her many upcoming holiday shows. She will be showcasing her new fused glass jewelry and art creations at the Monticola Holiday Craft show in uptown Susanville on Nov. 12 and 13.
“This is my favorite time of year because I love to help clients find that one of a kind perfect gift for their special someone” she adds “plus with holiday parties coming you’ll find a lot of affordable selections so you can add a little bling to your festive outfit too!”
It’s time again for the annual arts and craft show at the Monticola Club in Susanville this Friday and Saturday and local jeweler Edith Schwirian tells us she has made several one of a kind new pieces that will be showcased this weekend.
MOUNTAIN LIFEFLIGHT REMEMBRANCE
Mountain Lifeflight will be holding a remembrance for their lost crew at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 at the Banner Lassen helipad. Everyone is welcome to go remember the three courageous men that lost their lives that day. For more information contact the Mountain Lifeflights office.
LAST LASSEN HOOPS SIGN-UPS
This Wednesday evening is the last day to sign up for Lassen Hoops basketball for the 2011 season. The sign-ups will be held at the Parks and Recreation Department on Weatherlow Street, in Susanville from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10. Boys and girls in grades third through eighth are welcome. HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
The ladies at Hodge Podge Lodge have been busy getting their store ready for the holidays. Join them from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 for their annual Holiday Open House. Owners Kelly and Tom Smith invite you to enjoy some homemade cookies and spiced apple cider while you shop. Be sure and sign up for their drawing too.
SCOUTING FOR FOOD THIS SATURDAY
Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from every local unit are participating in this year's effort to re-fill the food shelves at CrossRoads, Salvation Army and the Herlong Family Resource Center for local families in need. Collections will be this Saturday, Nov. 13 in Susanville, Herlong, Westwood and Doyle. Have your non-perishable (no glass) food items at your doorstep by 9 a.m. Anita Osborn informs us that if for some reason your bag(s) don't get picked up you can take them to the Susanville Fire Department on Main Street in Susanville.
