NEW POKER MANAGER
Wayne Lichti has joined Diamond Mountain Casino & Hotel as poker manager in a commitment to upgrading poker at its Susanville facility. Lichti is looking forward to bring new events and games into poker at the casino. One of the first events will be a heads up tournament, which will be in the February-March time frame. Also under consideration is a golf and poker tournament and a doubles tournament.
The casino will hold informal classes on beginning Texas Hold’em starting in the new year. In addition to this the casino will look to start an Omaha game on Saturdays. The casino will shortly have a poker tab on its Facebook page listing all the information. They encourage anyone interested to contact the casino or join its facebook page.
NEW COOKIE LEE REPRESENTATIVE
Deborah Ruggiero tells us she’s recently joined the Cookie Lee organization and is the newest jewelry consultant in Susanville. “I love helping people jazz up their outfits with the perfect accessories and Cookie Lee has given me a chance to operate a business in a field I am passionate about,” Ruggiero said. Ken and Shirley Williams, of Lassen Floors, have recently retired. With their retirement their son Robb Williams, of Williams Floors, is still installing carpet and flooring. The Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel will be having their annual New Year’s Eve party from 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. in the Diamond Willow Room. The party includes a prime rib and seafood dinner buffet served with all your favorites. Put on your party dress and your dancing shoes and dance to the music of Evolution. To make the night complete, you can even book the entire party package that includes staying in one of their luxurious rooms. You might want to upgrade to a Jacuzzi suite! Tickets are on sale in the gift shop.

Several local gift shops tell us they will be open on Christmas Eve for your last minute local holiday shopping. The Pardner is open until 3 p.m. and Great Basin Antiques is open until 4 p.m. and the ladies there tell us they have a special discount table for huge savings on one of a kind finds! Finders Keepers and Simply Treasures are open until 5 p.m. and Hodge Podge Lodge is staying open late until 5:30 p.m. If you didn’t get time to make your own holiday candies, why not consider picking up some of the tasty, fresh made fudge there too!

The Small Business Development Center is hosting Virtual Incident PRocurement (VIPR) counseling. The consulting is available for Forest Service Contractors to get help submitting proposals through the VIPR process.
