Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 — A winter storm watch remains in effect from Friday morning, Oct. 31 through Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1 above 5,000 feet.
Moderate travel problems are likely. Motorists may experience very long delays. Chain restrictions are probable especially for trucks. Reduced visibility during heavier snow will make driving hazardous.
The bulk of snow is expected between 5 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday but lighter snow accumulations will occur before and after this timeframe.
Locations include Lassen National Park, Blue Canyon, Donner Pass, Echo Summit and Carson Pass.
Snow accumulations are expected to be 3 to 9 inches above 5,000 feet and up to a foot of snow above the 7,000-foot level between Friday and Saturday afternoons.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
