Grizzlies win one, lose two in tournament play
Jan. 10, 2012 — After defeating a Division III school, 65-64, in the first game of the 19th Annual Dennis Burnum Classic basketball tournament held in Oroville, Calif., the Lassen High boy’s varsity basketball team fell in two games.
The second game found the Grizzlies going into overtime with Mesa Verde High, and in the end it was Mesa Verde with the 48-44 win over Lassen.
The third game, the Grizzlies fell to Gridley, 56-51.
Lassen’s Jared Bertotti earned All-Tourney honors at the classic. Bertotti averaged 16 points and eight rebounds during the tournament.
