Chef Brian Rose, owner of Rose’s Café, tells us he’s just introduced a new dinner menu.You’ll find many of his authentic traditional Italian dishes, steaks and his new gluten-free pastas.
“More and more people have food allergies, and I have revamped my menu to make dining out an enjoyable, healthier option for those with gluten sensitivities,” he said.

NEW RESTAURANT AT GOLF COURSE

RE-OPENED IN WESTWOOD
The Sug'r Shack in Westwood has re-opened for the season. Owner Julie Brecht offers both take out and outside dining. You can enjoy a fresh made burger, hot dogs, frosties, milkshakes and more. All of their food is made fresh. It's a great place to take the whole family.

NEW TEEN CHALLENGE GROUP FORMING
A parking lot sale is being planned to support the Sacramento Valley Teen Challenges new Susanville contact office. Teen Challenge is an organization that helps young adults with addiction issues seeking a spiritual based approach to healing from their substance abuse problems.Sandy Forrest tells us they are seeking donations for their fundraiser to be held in the Lassen High School parking lot April 28. GOOD GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Honey Lake Hospice will be having their Good Grief Support Group meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 18 at the Lassen Library in Susanville. If you are experiencing grief caused by the loss of a job, marriage, death of a loved one or any other cause, you will find the meeting facilitated by Mike Boretz, LCSW and Sandy Forrest, RN, Bereavement Coordinator to be a safe, supportive environment to learn loving, nurturing approaches to moving forward and working through your personal pain. ALCOHOL AWARENESS MONTH
Lassen County Alcohol and Other Drug Department tells us April is Alcohol Awareness Month and as part of it, they want to remind parents it’s never too early to talk to your chidren about the dangers of substance use and abuse. If you are concerned your child may be experimenting with alcohol or drugs, they offer resources to parents and students to encourage a positive, proactive approach to these issues. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s cool to provide alcohol to kids in your home. Individuals contributing or purchasing alcohol for minors can face serious fines and legal penalties.
