PSREC switched to backup power and will provide power from its backup system for an extended period of time. Customers are advised to conserve as much as possible during the next few days.

PSREC told customers conserving also will aid in restoration efforts. Customers are asked to disconnect all nonessential electrical loads. Every light and appliance turned off will help PSREC re-energize more of its system. When the power transmission system is constrained, conservation helps keep the electrical system stable and enables the cooperative to serve its customers.

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) crews responded to power outages in Quincy and the Feather River Canyon.The Chips Fire burned under two PG&E electric transmission lines serving those communities and the company is evaluating any damage.

According to a press release from PG&E, more than 5,300 customers were without power about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, and customers reported the power went on and off during Tuesday evening and Tuesday night.

PG&E has seven mobile generators at three substations serving these communities, and customers in Quincy report the power is back on.
