CHP Start Smart class, Tuesday, Sept. 18

Sept. 15, 2012 — The leading cause of death for Americans age 15 to 20 is motor vehicle collisions.

The California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) goal is to reduce the death rate among teenagers as a result of these collisions. Susanville Area CHP will be hosting the Start Smart program at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 in the Lassen High School Library.

The class, which will last about two hours, will cover a variety of subjects including licensing requirements, safe driving practices, choices versus consequences, driving under the influence and distracted driving.

Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their student. The class is free.

Registration is not necessary but you can call CHP at 257-2191 if you have any questions.
