Family is looking for missing Doyle man

Edgar Carrera, 56, of Doyle, has not been seen since Aug. 28.
Wednesday, Sept. 19 — Family and friends are looking for any information that will lead them to a missing Doyle man last seen Aug. 28.
The man is Edgar Carrera (Ed), 56, who is described as a Hispanic man with white hair and wears glasses. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
According to Shaylea Moore, girlfriend of Carrera’s son, Carrera last spoke to family Aug. 28, and that also is reportedly the last time the landlord saw Carrera at the Doyle trailer park where he lives.
“He usually texts one of the kids every day and tells them he loves them.” Moore said.
Carrera has heart problems and Moore said, “We’re extremely worried about him because of his health.”
According to Moore, Carrera comes to Susanville and Westwood a lot via bus. He usually carries a backpack with him, but Moore said he left it at his house.
Missing posters are being posted around the area and on the buses.
Moore said they have also contacted the sheriff’s offices, hospitals and jails in Lassen and Plumas counties and in Reno, but they do not know his whereabouts.
According to Mike Carney, a sergeant at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, a report was taken in the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 7. Deputies went to Carrera’s home and searched the Milford and Doyle areas. They also contacted Carrera’s known contacts in Westwood. Foul play is not suspected.
Deputies also tried to ping a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal from Carrera’s cell phone, but according to Carney, the phone has been inactive since Aug. 30.
The case remains under investigation. If anyone has information they are asked to call Moore at 260-0383 or the LCSO at 257-6121.
