Dinner benefits teen with cancer
Sept. 26, 2012 — In true community spirit, the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel is providing servers and a banquet room, and donated a two-night hotel stay as a raffle prize, for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for David Williams, 13, who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer back in April.
According to family friend and fundraiser organizer, Carol Ingram, Williams’ dad died from the same disease less than three years ago.
“David and his family actually just had to move to San Diego last week,” said Ingram. “He was at the children’s hospital at UC Davis and they were going down there two times a week, but he took a turn for the worse and now he’s at a children’s hospital in San Diego.”
The dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 in the Casino’s Diamond Willow Room and tent. The cost for dinner is $6 per person. Proceeds will go toward David’s medical expenses.
Donations can also be made in David’s name at US Bank, account number 153497959269.
