Sept. 28, 2012 — A high-risk felony traffic stop and search of a Monrovia Street residence resulted in the arrest of Isen Peterson, 34, of Susanville, Thursday, Sept. 27.
Law enforcement officers seized more than $8,000 in cash along with drug-packaging material, digital scales and five firearms from the Monrovia home.
Peterson was arrested and booked into Lassen County Jail for violations of possession, possession for sale and trafficking methamphetamine. He is being held on a $20,000 bail.
According to a press release from the Lassen County Narcotics Task Force, agents conducted a traffic stop on Alexander Avenue near Cornell Street at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Peterson was driving a green Chevrolet Cavalier. He was detained at the scene by task force agents and the Susanville Police Department (SPD) officers immediately responded to the scene to assist.
Peterson was searched by narcotics agents and more than one ounce of suspected methamphetamine was found in a concealed container in Peterson’s clothing.
The substance was separately packaged into 11 equal-sized packages. The task force immediately activated a search warrant team comprised of members of the Lassen County Interagency SWAT team, Lassen County District Attorney’s Office Investigations, High Desert State Prison and California Correctional Center (CCC).
Those officers executed a tactical entry and search of Peterson’s residence on Monrovia Street. The entire operation was pursuant to a local narcotics search warrant. The home was searched by a drug detecting K-9 from CCC, narcotics agents and detectives from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
During the search, officers found the cash and drug paraphernalia. Task force agents estimated the street value of the suspect methamphetamine to be more than $4,000. The total weight of the substance was later weighed at about 41 grams.
According to the press release, based on the evidence found in this operation, task force agents believe Peterson is one of the major methamphetamine dealers in Lassen County.
This investigation is part of a long-term and ongoing investigation.
The LCSO expresses its gratitude to the officers from the SPD, High Desert State Prison, CCC and the district attorney investigator for their assistance in the case.
