Search expands for missing Doyle man

A search for a missing Doyle man has expanded into Plumas County.Missing

Oct. 2, 2012 — Edgar Carrera (Ed), 56, was reportedly last seen Aug. 28 at the Doyle trailer park where he lives. It was also the last time he spoke to family.

According to Mike Carney, a sergeant at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the investigation has expanded into Plumas County and deputies are looking into anything that could be traced back to Carrera, including phone records and bank statements.

There is no concrete evidence foul play is involved, but Carney said due to the length of the case it is not ruled out.

The LCSO took a report about Carrera on Sept. 7. He is described as a Hispanic man with white hair and wears eye glasses. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He also has heart problems.

According to Carney, deputies went to Carrera’s home and searched the Milford and Doyle areas and also got in touch with his known contacts in Westwood.

Deputies also tried to ping a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal from Carrera’s cell phone. The phone has been inactive since Aug. 30.

Missing posters have been put up around the community, but according to Carney the LCSO has not received a whole lot of information from the general public.

The case remains under investigation. If anyone has information, they are asked to call Shaylea Moore at 260-0383 or the LCSO at 257-6121.
