Betty June Nuding (Ross)

Betty June Nuding (Ross) was born June 27, 1921 in Nebraska and died Aug. 23, 2012 in Susanville, Calif.

Nuding was a resident of Susanville since May 2012 and a previous lifelong resident of Stockton, Calif.

Nuding was a homemaker and a member of Stockton Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) since 1951. She was the president of SDA Church Community Services Center for 13 years, helped with VBS for more than 20 years, lead Sabbath class weekly for many years and helped spread the gospel.

Nuding was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ben T. Nuding; her parents, Charles and Nora Ross; and siblings, Merle Ross, Glen Ross, Gail Ross, Shirley Trivelpiece and Duwan McTeer.

She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Baker and Rachel Gilkey; daughter, Phyllis Fromm and husband Norb; granddaughters, Cindy Harrison and husband Jim, and Sandy Raffelson and husband Stace; six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.

Billie Virginia Paulson (Mouse)

Billie Virginia Paulson (Mouse) passed away Sept. 15, 2012 after a courageous fight with cancer.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Duane (Pooch) Paulson; brother, Harold Edwards; and parents, Bill and Mae Edwards.

Billie is survived by sons, Robert Paulson and Ronald Paulson; grandson, Eric Paulson; two great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Edwards, as well as several nieces and nephews, Carol Dustin and Jimmy Edwards, of Susanville, Dan Edwards, of Colorado, Linda Brown, of Reno, Nev., Mark Edwards and Mary Loflin, of Susanville and Ryan Edwards, of Chico.

Billie was born in Slayton, Texas, Aug. 16, 1928 and moved to the Susanville area with her family in 1936 where she married and raised her family until she and Duane sold their Standard Oil bulk plant business and retired in 1976 to travel for several years settling, in the Chico area. After Duane passed in 1999, Billie returned to Susanville to be close to friends and family.

Billie was a 50-year member of the Beta Mu Masters. Billie loved to garden; spending all day working in the yard was her favorite thing to do unless she could go to Reno shopping. She will be dearly missed by longtime friends and family.

No services will be held per her wishes.

 

Mary Alosi Dykes

Mary Alosi Dykes, of Susanville, Calif., died Sept. 27, 2012 at Country Villa Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Susanville, Calif., at the age of 93.

She was born to Katherine and Peter Alosi in Cambridge, Mass. Sept. 28, 1918.

She is survived by her son, Jack Iba, of Susanville, Calif.; her sisters. Jenny Alosi, of Durham, Calif. and Rosie Godinez; brothers, Peter Alosi and Anthony Alosi, all of Susanville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years. Truman Dykes, of Vacaville, Calif., sister, Carmella Alosi Sigg, of Susanville and brothers Phillip Alosi, Frank Alosi Livoti and Michael Alosi, all of Susanville and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Ardene Elizabeth Arancibia Ryerson

Ardene Elizabeth Arancibia Ryerson was born Oct. 25, 1937 and died Sept. 22, 2012.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rich; daughters, Kathi and Micki; son-in-law, Keith; grandchildren, Deanie, Jennifer, Amber and Griffin; great-granddaughters, Lillian, Julianne, Olivia; and a great-grandchild due March 2013; as well as her family of friends.
