Diploma Gold Adult School is starting a new semester and is composing a list of interested students. 2013 LABOR LAW UPDATE

CRAB FEED TICKETS
The annual Elk's Crab Feed is next month. Tickets are now available from Town & Country Real Estate and Tum-A-Lum Lumber in Susanville. The event is scheduled for Feb. 22 and 23. Be sure and get your tickets early.

GINGERBREAD WINNERS ARE
The Gift Boutique & Antiques hosted their first gingerbread competition this holiday season. The winners were: grand prize, Jeannie Diermier, $50 gift certificate; first prize youth, Sierah Mathers, $25 gift certificate; creative design, Gracie Claypool, $25 gift certificate; and holiday spirit, Kylie Kersh, $25 gift certificate.
WESTWOOD’S FOURTH ANNUAL CHOWDER COOK-OFF
Rain, snow or shine, make a note on your calendar to attend the Westwood’s Fourth annual Chowder Cook-Off at the Westwood Visitors Center on Saturday, Jan. 19. Sponsored by the Westwood Chamber of Commerce, it features a barbecued oyster bar, crafts, a no host bar, live music, kid’s bounce house and a 50/50 raffle. Make a pretty mean chowder, yourself? It’s not too late to enter; applications will be accepted up to the morning of the cook-off. We encourage scenic photos with people doing visitor-type activities, but scenic photos are also welcome. Pick up a copy of the 2012 Visitors Guide at a local business to get an idea of the kinds of pictures we’ve used in the past. PICK-UP AND DELIVERY AVAILABLE
Since Clip-N-Dales has moved into their new location at 710-765 Highway 395 East, owner Amanda Byrd is offering pick-up and delivery service for cats and dogs. She will be happy to pick up your four-legged friend, groom them, clip their nails and bring them back to you. She will also come to you to clip your pets’ toenails.
