Jan. 17 — The Lassen High School Grizzlies faced off against the Chester High School Volcanoes in the first annual County Axe Battle in the Lassen Community College (LCC) gym last night. The Grizzlies won the suspenseful game against their rival, 49-47, in front of a massive crowd of Lassen, Chester and LCC fans. For their victory, KSUE Sports awarded the Grizzlies a trophy that featured a full-size axe. The Grizzlies will keep the axe trophy at Lassen High School until next year’s Axe Battle when Chester will try to win it back. Junior Dakoda Hahn dribbles the ball away from Chester defense in last night’s County Axe Battle. |
