COLD AND FLU SEASON

Even if you’ve had a flu vaccination, it’s important to keep your immune system strong. Kristen Volberg, owner of The Health Nut, recommends increasing your daily intake of vitamin D. Many doctors are now recommending at least 4,000 IU per day for adults and 2,000 IU for children. Other strong immune builders include Wellness Formula, the herbs astragalus, elderberry, oregano oil, siberian eleuthero and garlic. Probiotics are also very important. Beneficial bacteria that live in our intestines make up about 75 percent of our immune system. Check out their selection of soothing herbal teas for relief of colds and flu symptoms.
