Banner Lassen ranks high

March 19, 2013 — Banner Lassen Medical Center is one of four Banner Health hospitals recently named as a HealthStrong™ Top 100 Critical Access hospital in the United States.

“We are proud of the efforts of our physicians and staff who have contributed to our hospital achieving this designation for outstanding quality care, outcomes, patient satisfaction and efficiency,” said Bob Edwards, chief executive officer of Banner Lassen Medical Center.

The hospital received one of the highest ranks among critical access hospitals on the iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index™. The Hospital Strength Index is a comprehensive rating of critical access hospitals, and the results recognize the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals that provide a safety net to communities across rural America. The tool measures 56 different performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.

“Rural hospitals play a critical role in providing needed care to communities across America, yet the challenges are completely different while being as complex as urban hospitals. The need for enhanced performance and a framework for success are equally important as hospitals prepare for the impact of health reform,” said John Morrow, executive vice president of iVantage Health Analytics.

Banner Lassen Medical Center originally opened in 1883 as Lassen County Hospital. It is a part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health care system with 23 hospitals in seven states. Banner Lassen offers a range of services to aid in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.

Why don't you interview some folks who have had surgery there, and ask them about complications???

Was it inmates they interviewed or questioned? Because I wouldn't give Banner a 1 on ANY questioner. When I have to wait hours because they have inmates in the ER, wouldn't call that great service.

Did they mention that Banner uses its "non-profit" status to make Banner Lassen Medical Center one of THE most profitable hospitals in its class in the entire country??
