Suspect in Trejo murder arrested, second suspect sought
Friday, Jan. 16, 2014 — A former Susanville resident is under arrest today on murder and attempted murder charges, and a second suspect is being sought.
Detectives from the Susanville Police Department — with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, the Butte County Sheriff’s SWAT Team and the California Highway Patrol — arrested former Susanville resident Ronald Jay Benjamin, 26, at a residence in a rural part of Glenn County on Thursday, Jan. 15.
Benjamin was booked into the Glenn County Jail on a warrant issued by the Lassen County Superior Court. Bail has been set at $1.5 million.
Benjamin is charged with the February 2014 murder of Cedric Erwin Trejo and the attempted murder of Nathan Duane Wilson.
