Man arrested on firearm, trespassing charges
Tuesday, April 30 — Lassen County sheriff deputies arrested a 34-year-old Susanville man on firearm and criminal trespassing charges early this morning, Tuesday, April 30.
According to a press release from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, personnel responded to Tako Nee Street on a report of a break-in. The victim homeowner reported someone unlawfully entered her residence and confronted her, yelling at her. The victim fled her home to another residence and called for law enforcement.
Deputies located and arrested Maitland Carpenter, who was not only unlawfully in the home, but was allegedly discovered to be in possession of a Romanian AK-47 rifle with a 30-cartridge magazine and a large amount of ammunition.
Carpenter was booked into the Lassen County Jail on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an assault weapon and criminal trespass. His bail had yet to be set at the time the press release was sent.
