Fair nomination forms available
Wednesday, May 8 — Fair staff is gearing up for this year’s Lassen County Fair and is seeking nominations for its annual contests including Grand Marshal and Old Timer of the Year.
Nomination forms are available online at lassencountyfair.org or at the fair office at 195 Russell Ave.
People will also find applications for Little Mr. and Little Miss and Miss Lassen County at both locations.
Interested Miss Lassen County contestants must return their applications by Friday, May 17.
A play day will be held Saturday, June 8 to determine the Little Mr. and Little Miss Lassen County court.
Parents will drop their children off at 11 a.m. at the Russell Avenue gate and pick them up at 12:30 p.m.
Registration forms are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Children must have reached their seventh birthday and may not have reached their ninth birthday by July 16, 2013.
Friday, June 7 is the deadline for the Old Timer of the Year and Grand Marshal nominations.
The Old Timer of the Year must be at least 60 years of age and been a resident of Lassen County for at least 10 years. This award is judged on kindness and service to the community.
The Grand Marshal is typically a local hero, someone who contributes to the community and participates in charity.
This year’s fair is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 21.
