Diamond Mountain Speedway continues to wow crowds at the races
June 28 — Diamond Mountain Speedway held its third racing event of the season Friday, June 14. Below are the results and standings of the mini, strictly stock and modified division races:
Mini division results
Lary Whitebird, in car No. 97, came in first place in the mini division heat race, while Bailee Glenn took second in car No. 75.
Glenn came back to take first place in the trophy dash and the main event. Love took second in the main event.
Mini division standings
Glenn currently holds the number-one spot with 118 total points, Galen Hainline is second with 86 points, Whitebird ranks third with 85 points, Michael Nichols is fourth with 39 points and Love comes in fifth also with 39 points.
Strictly stock division results
In heat race one of the strictly stock division, Dan Dias was the winner in car No. 427. Junior Toon took second place in car No. 33, Gene Cain came in third in car No. 100, Fred Kresky was fourth in car No. 3 and Samantha Schultz got fifth in car No. 05.
Nathan Howard won heat race two in car No. 81, Joe Wirtz took second in car No. X, Paul Fletcher got third in car No. s10, Aaron Mayne was fourth in car No. 13 and Danny Downs came in fifth driving car No. 25.
Toon won the trophy dash, with Dias coming in second and Wirtz in third.
Toon continued on to win the main event. He was followed by Fletcher who came in second place, Mayne in third, Kresky in fourth and Downs in fifth.
Strictly stock division standings
Mayne currently leads the strictly stock division with 125 points, Toon is close behind him in the number-two spot with 123 points. Schultz is third with 115 points, Cain has 112 points and is in fourth place, Richard Longacre is in fifth place with 76 points and Dias is in sixth also with 76 points.
Modified division results
Dennis Arnold, driving car No. 13, took first place in heat race one in the modified division, Chris Nieman came in second in car No. 3 and Ricky Bobby got third place in car No. 96.
Riley Simmons won heat race two in car No. 21r, Matt Murphy got second driving car No. 6m and Tommy Glenn III came in third driving car No. 76.
Nieman won the trophy dash, while Murphy came in second place, Arnold took third and Bobby got fourth.
Murphy came back to win the main event with Simmons behind him in second place. Nieman took third, Jeff Olschowka got fourth in car No. 121, Arnold was fifth, Bobby came in sixth, DJ Short got seventh and Glenn III was eighth.
Modified division standings
Simmons is in the number-one spot in the modified division with 125 points, Murphy comes in second with 121 points, Arnold has 114 points and is in the third place spot, Bobby is in fourth with 103 points, Steve Bejcek is in the number-five position with 78 points and Glenn III is sixth with 66 points.
The next racing event at will be Thursday, July 4. Diamond Mountain Speedway will celebrate the holiday by putting on a fireworks show after the races. Tickets are available at the fair office.
