Diamond Mountain Speedway celebrates the Fourth of July with a show of speed

July 12 — Lassen County car racing fans came out in full force to Diamond Mountain Speedway on Thursday, July 4 to celebrate the holiday by watching mini, modified and strictly stock car races. After the races, spectators enjoyed a fireworks spectacular put on by the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The results of the races are as follows:
Mini division results
Galen Hainline, in car No. 11h, took first place in the heat race with Lary Whitebird, in car No. 97, behind him in second and Matt Canada coming in third in car No. 22.
Hainline and Whitebird went head-to-head in the trophy dash, but Hainline again came out on top, taking first place.
Hainline took his winning streak into the main event, claiming another first-place win. Whitebird was in second and Canada took third.
Mini division standings
Hainline holds the number one spot in the mini division with 129 points. Whitebird is close behind him in second place with 126 points, Bailee Glenn is third with 118 points, Canada stands in fourth with 39 points and Michael Nichols is fifth, also with 39 points.
Modified division results
In heat race one, Richard Paperhausen took first place driving car No. 16p, Larry McCracken came in second in car No. 06 and Matt Murphy, in car No. 6m, took third place.
Wade Kennemore, in car No. 24, was the winner of heat race two with Mitch Murphy coming in second in car No. 7m and Bob Higgins taking third in car No. 13h.
Riley Simmons won first place in the third race driving car No. 21r. Bill Pearson, in car No. 7n, came in second place and Justin Satel got third in car No. 21j.
McCracken came back to win the trophy dash with Paperhausen behind him in second place and Mitch Murphy in third.
In the main event, Pearson earned the first place win. Paperhausen came in second, Simmons got third, Dennis Arnold was fourth in car No. 13 and Kennemore took fifth.
Modified division standings
Simmons holds the first place position in the modified division with 166 total points. Matt Murphy has 153 points, putting him second. Arnold is third with 151 points, Steve Bejcek is in fourth place with 112 points and Ricky Bobby stands in fifth with 103 points.
Strictly stock division results
Dan Dias, driving car No. 427, was the first-place winner of heat race one in the strictly stock division. Joe Wirtz came in second in car No. X and Junior Toon took third place in car No. 33.
In heat race two, Paul Fletcher took first place driving car No. s10. Nathan Howard, in car No. 81, came in second and Samantha Schultz was third in car No. 05.
Howard came back to win the trophy dash with Fred Kreskey behind him in second place and Fletcher in third.
Dias took the win in the main event, Earl Adams was the second-place winner in car No. 22, Gene Cain got third in car No. 100, Richard Longacre was fourth in car No. 07 and Toon came in fifth.
Strictly stock division standings
Toon holds the first-place spot in the strictly stock division with 160 total points. Cain is number two with 150, Aaron Mayne comes in third with 147 points, Schultz is fourth with 146 and Dias is fifth with 119 points.
Diamond Mountain Speedway will be having races as a part of fair week at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20.
