Sept. 18 — In their second home match of the season, the Lady Grizzlies volleyball team battled with the Portola High School Lady Tigers and came out with yet another win, 3-0, Tuesday, Sept. 17. After going undefeated in the Burney Tournament this weekend and then beating Portola, the Lassen varsity volleyball team boasts an impressive overall record of 14-1.
In the match against Portola, the Lady Grizzlies owned the first and second sets, winning 25-13 and 25-15. However, the third set was a little more competitive, as the Lady Grizzlies battled Portola to earn their 25-20 win.
“The first two sets were good. Klari Scheff, oh my gosh, she’s an amazing digger. She got some great digs in those first two sets and good serving, she’s an outstanding setter,” varsity volleyball coach Julie Schmidt said after the match.
The Lady Grizzlies will travel to compete in the Red Bluff Tournament Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21.
