Hammond takes the oath today
Sept. 24, 2013 — Newly elected Lassen County District 5 Supervisor Tom Hammond will take the oath of office at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the old courtroom upstairs in the Historic Courthouse, located at 220 S. Lassen St. in Susanville. Hammond will be sworn in by Lassen County Clerk Julie Bustamante.
“We’re just looking forward to the challenges in front of us,” Hammond said, “and we want to move forward with our district and the county, understanding that there are many challenges in front of us.”
Last week, the county clerk reported the canvass for the Sept. 10 Special Recall Election had been completed and the final results certified.
Final reports are now posted at the Lassen County Clerk’s website, lassencounty.org/govt/dept/county_clerk/registrar/Elections.asp.
The Certified Statement of Vote will be presented to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors at its Sept. 24 meeting under Department Reports – County Clerk. The board will be asked to declare the results as per Election Code Section 15400.
