Yonan helps Starz make nationals in Vegas

June 30, 2009 — The Chico Starz 18 and under softball team qualified for the American Softball Association’s “A” Nationals for the first time ever behind Lassen High School standout Natalie Yonan. Yonan batted .714 over six games during the Northern California Championships that were held on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Grizz Bowl brings community to Arnold Field

June 23, 2009 — Arnold Field was jam-packed with hard-hitting guards, feisty football fanatics and cast members from Survivor as the High Desert State Prison Desert Dawgs and the California Correctional Center Fighting Mustangs faced off in Grizz Bowl 2009 on Saturday, June 13 at Lassen High School.

Trails Fest 2009 part deux

June 23, 2009 — The second go around of the Trails Fest previously scheduled for Saturday, June 6 was re-scheduled to Saturday, June 13 and to much success. The Susanville Area Bicycle Association and a number of other bikers and hikers were on hand to participate in the grand opening festivities.
