North Street blocked, body discovered in creek
April 4, 2013 - According to a press release from the from the Susanville Police Department, on Tuesday, April 2, officers were “summoned to the area of Paiute Creek near the North Street Bridge on a report of a deceased person.”
Upon arrival, officers found a dead Caucasian man, estimated to be in his late 50s or early 60s, near the creek.
The name will not be released until the identity of the man has been confirmed and the next of kin has been notified, according to the police department.
According to the press release, officers are very early in the investigation, however, there are no obvious signs of trauma to the man. An autopsy will be scheduled in the near future to attempt to determine the cause of death.
