Feb. 25, 2014 — Merchants beware. Since last Friday afternoon the Susanville Police Department has responded to multiple reports of counterfeit bills being passed at local businesses.
According to a press release from Lt. Matt Wood, of the Susanville Police Department, about 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 officers responded to the Diamond Mountain Casino after employees reported receiving three counterfeit $1 bills.
Then about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 officers responded to a Main Street grocery store after employees reported receiving three counterfeit $10 bills.
About 8 a.m. Tuesday morning officers also responded to a Main Street gas station after employees there also reported receiving two counterfeit $10 bills.
According to the release, the department continues to investigate these incidents. Citizens with information are encouraged to contact the Susanville Police Department office at 1801 Main St. during normal business hours or call its 24-hour dispatch line at 257-2171.
