Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 — There is a winter weather advisory for snow in effect from 4 p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday, Feb. 26 until 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 for Eastern Lassen, Plumas and Sierra counties. It is expected to accumulate 4 to 6 inches in areas above 5,000 feet west of Highway 395. East of Highway 395 expect up to 4 inches above 5,000 feet with up to 2 inches below 5,000 feet.
Snow will create hazardous driving conditions. Chain controls are possible on Highways 89, 44, 49 and 70 along with Highway 395 from Susanville north. Snow is expected to pose an inconvenience to travelers. Roads will become slick and hazardous with snow and ice first developing on bridges and overpasses. Motorists should slow down and use caution.
