High school claims Credence ownership
Tuesday, May 13, 2014 — Newly hired legal counsel for the Lassen Union High School District is requesting the purchase and sale of the Credence High School property for a new community swimming pool not proceed until current legal ownership can be determined.
A letter from attorney Tom Barth will be sent to Honey Lake Valley Recreation Authority administrative officer Jared Hancock and Susanville School District Superintendent Jason Waddell regarding the matter as the high school district believes it is the rightful owner of the property, not Susanville School District.
On Tuesday, May 6, the Honey Lake Valley Recreation Authority board of directors approved purchasing the former Credence High School property and the Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees responded by calling for a special meeting Thursday, May 9.
