County receives good audit

Tuesday, May 27, 2014 — Lassen County received a good audit report for the 2012-2013 fiscal year and, according to the outside auditor, it is among the smaller counties that are doing better than others across the state.

Fausto Hinojosa, of Price Page and Company, out of Clovis, presented the audit report at a Tuesday, May 20 meeting of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors.

According to Hinojosa, the county received a clean opinion, which finds the financial statements are presented in accordance with the accounting rules set by the governmental accounting board.

Reviewing the governmental activities, which lumps all of the governmental funds together, Hinojosa said the assets were about $91 million.

The liabilities were $7.2 million leaving $84 million in equity.
