Supervisors approve county budget

Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 — A county budget with an estimated total funds of $123 million has been approved.

The budget was approved in a 3-2 vote during a Tuesday, Aug. 12 meeting of the Lassen County Board of Supervisors.

Supervisors Aaron Albaugh and Jim Chapman voted no, while Bob Pyle, Tom Hammond and board chair Larry Wosick voted yes.

This year’s estimated revenues are $96,918,448 with current fund ending balances at $26 million.

According to county administrative officer Richard Egan, the revenues and funding end balances gives the county a total available funding of $123,666,942.

The appropriations limit is $28,638,232 and the general tax rate is $1.

The supervisors held a public hearing during a special meeting Monday, Aug. 4, but it was continued to a regular Tuesday, Aug. 12 meeting at the request of Eileen Spencer of Kanwehelp.com.

Spencer was not in attendance at the Aug. 12 meeting and no other public comments were made.

If we add up the staff time wasted by people like Spencer, it would shock everyone. So much money wasted by her and people like her. Just think of what good they could do by devoting that time to helping people instead. So wasteful. So counter-product ive. Our Board room is broken and tax payers are not getting what they pay for. Crazy people should not be allowed to direct our elected officials. Spencer should run for the Board to see exactly how the silent majority feels about her.

Mr. Bonham you and Mr. Chapman were not elected as Auditor for two simple reasons. You have no skills and you both are not trusted.

Your trashy letters over the years to me personally have only proven that you are a very sad excuse for a human being

I can understand your frustration when faced with the facts. The people trust KWH, is that what really bothers you?

You live in a dream world, I read somewhere that you had 4000 votes on another stupid poll...really. There are many in this county that have strong opinions about you so they write. I really don't have the time to play behind other names as you do every day - "executive committee"? You missed the meeting. You don't know anything about overhead allocations or who is responsible for what in the government structure. You didn't have any 'expert' advice or you would have used it yourself. Happy to see that the whole Spencer family is now involved in the "family business." Everybody sends you things and everything is a threat? Wow, aren't we full of ourselves today?

Silly yu Judge Dread (aka) Kurt Bonham. KWH functions very well when I am not available. How about you. Can Chapman function without you?
When you have the time Sweetie, take a look at the Grand Jury Report and stop sending my trashy letters and threatening me. It just gets old.

just received a call to check out Spencer's website. she claims to have had an excuse not to attend the meeting but apparently she found time to file a Brown Act complaint. Just the facts as Spencer says.

Sorry, to disappoint. There was a death in my family. Thanks to all for all of your kind thoughts.

She claims to be the voice of the people, and that she has anointed herself to that role to look out for the rest of us. Who is she kidding? Her bias liberal propaganda is so out of touch and so is that poor excuse of a website.

Sorry Ms Spencer this is the County of Lassen and not the County of Eileen. You don't represent my voice, when the time comes I can use my voice to express my opinions and don't need some smug person trying to speak on my behalf.

Held over for one person? Then she didn't show? The public anguish of not being represented. Actually this is the way of not having to take a stand on a big issue so that later you can criticize all other decisions. Term limits for kanwehelp?
