Susanville Police investigate attempted bank robbery
February 20, 2014 - The Susanville Police Department is seeking any information regarding an attempted robbery at the drive-up ATM at Bank of America.
At approximately 8:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, officers responded to the bank on N. Gay Street after the incident was reported.
Officers contacted two victims, of Lake Almanor, who said while they were attempting to complete a transaction at the drive-up ATM machine, they were contacted by an unknown man who was described as being 5’0’’ to 5’6” in height, wearing dark clothing, having a Hispanic accent and carrying a shot gun.
The suspect allegedly pointed the weapon at one of the victims and demanded money, but the victim responded by speeding away from the scene and calling police. A second individual was also seen in the area of the ATM. during the incident and may be connected with the crime.
The person was only described as wearing dark clothing. The suspects were last seen running away from the scene.
