Marilyn Ann Matthews

In loving memory.

Marilyn Ann Matthews, 66, peacefully passed away March 28, 2014 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. Marilyn was born in Devils Lake, N.D. in 1947. She was the daughter of late Harley and Deloris Volden. She moved to Lassen County in 1967, where she resided in Milford for 47 years.

She is survived by two brothers, Warren Volden and Jerry Volden, both of North Dakota; five sisters, Lavonne Volden, of North Dakota, Connie Smith, of Canada, Cheryl Widman, of North Dakota, Cathy Miller, of North Dakota, and Sandra Volden, of North Dakota; her three children — two daughters, Caron Beckett, of Susanville, and Brenda Roadifer, of Milford, and one son, Bradlee Matthews, of Butte, Montana; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 12, 2014 at the Milford Community Center, with a Celebration of Life potluck immediately following.

Woodrow Clyde “Woody” Morgan, 64, of DeKalb, Texas, died Friday, March 28, 2014 in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.
Morgan was born Jan. 4, 1950 in Borger, Texas. He was former publishing editor for Bowie County Citizens Tribune, a journalist, a musician and an Army veteran.

Morgan also served as a staff writer, news editor and managing editor of the Lassen County Times.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Waits Morgan, of DeKalb; two daughters, Jamie Clough, of Charlotte, N.C., and Crystal Eastburn, of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Sharon Hackler, of Pittsburg, Texas; two grandsons, Jourdain Peterson and Jacob Peterson; and a number of other relatives.

Memorials may be made to New Boston Rotary Club.
