Judy Galassi, co-owner of Papa Murphy's in Susanville, tells us they will be open on the Fourth of July this year. So grab a pizza on your way out to the lake for an easy dinner this year on July 4th.

Looking for some fun this summer? Join Community Church for the Fire Fighters Vacation Bible School the week of July 7 through 11. There will be games, music and crafts at the fire training academy! OLD MILL CAFÉ SERVING DINNERS
In addition to serving breakfast and lunch, the Old Mill Café on Birch Street in Westwood is now serving dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Co-owner Jason Theobald says they use only the freshest ingredients with their family recipes complemented by their fruit and cream pies baked daily.
Carol and Mike Cotter, owners of Uptown Uniforms in Susanville, are celebrating their 20th year in business by giving away a Stinger flashlight. It is not too late for planting! TAKE OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY (TOPS)
Before there was Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, there was the TOPS weight loss support group. Local resident Bonnie Curtis tells us she is organizing a local TOPS in the Susanville and Janesville areas. In addition to private weigh-ins at the weekly support group, there are also awards for best losers and those who have reached their goals. LASSEN D.E.N SUMMER PROGRAMS
Emily Strength at the Lassen D.E.N. Community Center has just announced they will be starting classes in July at their temporary location at the Lassen Senior Center. You can check out their calendar of events on their website at lassenden.org. A few of the new classes include CPR, first aid, how to brew kombucha and how to crochet rag rugs.
