CALL OF THE WILD

Is just one of the silly names of the scents of Poo Pourri you will find available at Sierra Jewelry in Uptown Susanville. Owner Sherri McBroome just started carrying these crazy named scents for the bathroom. They have the Good Housekeeping seal of approval and are safe for septic systems.

BRONCS AND BULLS TONIGHT!

While the Lassen County Fair may not formally start until Wednesday, they are kicking off at 7 p.m. tonight Tuesday, July 15 with the Circle P Rodeo Ranch Broncs and Bull Bash. Come down for an exciting evening of tough cowboys versus broncs and bulls in the north arena at the fairgrounds. For more information, log on to lassencountyfair.org, or see their ad in today’s paper.

FALL CRAFT FESTIVAL

You might think it's too early to be talking about fall, but the Historic Uptown Fall Craft Festival is set for Sept. 20 in historic Uptown Susanville. They are currently seeking craft and food vendors for the event. You can call Rhonda Fuller at 310-4906 to reserve your space.

NEED ALTERATIONS?

Longtime seamstress and co-owner of The Elegant Iris & The Men's Den, Blake Huhtala tells us with the busy wedding season upon us she would like to remind everyone they do alterations. Whether it's a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress or maybe you need a pair of pants hemmed. They are available for all your alteration needs.

IT’S FAIR TIME

It’s fair week and Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel wants to remind you to stop by their booth and try your luck dunking some of your favorite locals at the dunk tank. Plus, you can spin the wheel for prizes — all while raising money to support their scholarship funds and charities. Idaho Grocery tells us they will be having their new catering cart at the fair, too, selling their delicious Basque chorizos. Be sure to stop by and enjoy these tasty temptations!

MORE FUN AT THE FAIR

Don’t forget to attend the annual 4-H and FFA Jr. Livestock Sale at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 20 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. There will be a complimentary continental breakfast that will precede the sale from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the sale area. Also Susanville Auto Center will be holding a free drawing for a 32-inch flat screen TV. Be sure to check out the latest model vehicle which will be at their booth.
