D AND B COUNTRY CAFÉ
Lassen County residents Brian and Dreama Crump have long awaited the opening of their very own restaurant, D and B Country Café in Susanville. They have 30 years of food service experience, and are using fresh, local herbs and produce when available. Dreama says homestyle food is their specialty, and Brian added they have daily specials, a children’s menu and ask about their “hero” discount. They are serving lunch and dinner, and are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. D and B’s is located at 2685 Main St., Susanville.
ANNUAL POKER RUN IN WESTWOOD
The Double “G” Iron Horse Saloon in Westwood is hosting its third annual poker run Saturday, Aug. 23. Registration starts at 10:15 a.m. with the ride getting underway at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a barbecue, prizes giveaways, including a 50-50 cash prize, and music. Proceeds from this popular event benefit the Chimney Fund. Co-owners Gunnar and Candi Garrett and Mary Gow said that if you don’t ride, not a problem. A $10 donation takes care of the food and entertainment.

HIGH DESERT BRAWL X
The Iron Pit Fight Team will be holding the High Desert Brawl X on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel. The gates open at 5 p.m. Proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations including the Zara Jareda, Michael Cochran and Doyle Urrutia memorial scholarship funds, SIR youth and elders, senior services and the Iron Pit Fight Team. So do your part and head over to the casino this weekend for an exciting good time!
REVIVAL MEETINGS IN SUSANVILLE
Pastor Gerry Van der Wende at Grace Fellowship Church tells us there will be four revival meetings throughout Susanville from Friday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 24. Evangelist Bill Harris will be the featured presenter at these meetings. At 9 a.m. Aug. 17 there will be a breakfast at the Memorial Park meeting. W’WOOD LITTLE LEAGUE FUNDRAISER
Charlie and Priscilla Cedi are hosting a barbecue and horseshoe tournament at their downtown Westwood bar and restaurant, Chuck’s Railroad Room. It is set from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. Charlie said the horseshoe tournament starts at 1 p.m.
